Dashain is the most important festival in the Nepali culture. The festival is celebrated on the happiness of victory of good on evil. In the festival families and relatives gather up to take tika and jamara from elders. In this festival people also wear new clothes and meat is very important cuisine. Goddess Durga is worshipped in this festival for 6 days. The festival is all about having fun, celebrating with family and receiving blessings from elders.
The festival sounds very fun but there are also some back drops about the festival. A lot of money is required to celebrate the festival and not everyone has that amount of money. Similarly the festival has also become a medium of show off where people show off how much they can afford.
