Bollywood, Rai’s first few acting roles were actually in Tamil movies. After struggling to really take off with any Bollywood releases, Rai found critical and commercial success in 1998 in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.” After this hit film, Rai slowly and steadily climbed the ranks in Bollywood and progressively became one of the industry’s well-known names, both in India and internationally.However, since the release of the critically acclaimed, albeit commercially unsuccessful “Guzaarish” in 2010, Rai has not acted in any movies. She reportedly has taken the past several years off to focus on her family, which includes her famous husband Abhishek Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya. At long last, five years since the release of her last movie, Rai is set to hit the silver screen again in Sanjay Gupta’s “Jazbaa.” This remake of the Korean film “Seven Days” is slated for an Oct. 9 release. And, making sure that her career keeps moving forward, Rai has also just started filming for Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
